When the Career Shifts
More women are continuing to train during pregnancy. They adapt their game, stay connected to the mat, and lean on supportive teammates and coaches. But there’s still a lingering idea that training while pregnant means you’re no longer making progress. That your effort counts for less, even when you’re showing up consistently.
The truth is, training through pregnancy takes awareness, control, and a lot of mental strength. Your movement changes, but your learning doesn’t stop. It just looks different.
Coming back after giving birth can be tough. The body moves differently. Timing feels off. Things that used to feel automatic might take time to find again. It doesn’t mean you’ve gone backwards. It just means you're returning with a different perspective.
Pregnancy doesn’t end your training. It shifts it. Like coming back from an injury, it teaches you more about how your body works and how to listen to it. You adjust. You continue. You grow.
And as more women choose to stay on the mat through it, things are changing. Support is growing. The mindset is shifting. One roll at a time.
